The Belize Joint Intelligence Operations Center (JIOC) has received a donation of four Ford Ranger

The Belize Joint Intelligence Operations Center (JIOC) has received a donation of four Ford Ranger pickup trucks from the U.S. Embassy Belize. Valued at US$206,000, the donation will aid JIOC in investigating and countering transnational organized crime in Belize, particularly in the deployment of assets in remote areas.

The donation was made through the U.S. Government’s Foreign Military Financing grant program and coordinated through the U.S. Embassy’s Security Cooperation Office.

Hon. Oscar Mira, Minister of State in the Ministry of National Defence and Border Security, and Lt. Commander Freddie Ku, Director of JIOC, received the keys to the new vehicles on behalf of the Government of Belize from U.S. Embassy Chargé D'affaires a.i. Leyla Moses-Ones.

The JIOC comprises members of the Belize Defence Force, Belize Coast Guard, Belize Police Department, the Customs and Excise, and Immigration departments. Image removed.
